Ivujivik

A small settlement in Nunavut with archaeology suggesting that the Thule people lived here as long as 3,000 years ago. The local currents that flow through the channels here means that there is more often than not ice, indeed the name means "Place where currents and sea ice gather". There is, on average, just 20 ice free days per year and with that much sea ice there is always a chance of polar bears.
