Why we like the Charcot
- This ship is equipped with hybrid engines using liquefied natural gas, minimising the carbon footprint of your trip
- A strong focus on the expedition with a full programme of landings on each trip
- A great example of the expedition approach is the trip to the Geographical North Pole; this ship is a serious ice breaker
- One of the few ships to sail the full length of the Northwest Passage from Greenland to Nome
- Offers adventure and relaxation in equal measure, with an indoor pool, sauna, spa, and choice of restaurants and bars

Communal Areas
Le Commandant Charcot has many common areas that are designed and equipped to provide the very best experience. In the reception area you'll find a photo desk and a boutique selling clothing, jewellery, beauty products, postcards and various accessories. The main lounge hosts a tea corner, a cigar lounge and a bar, whereby you'll be treated to live music on selected evenings. For soaking up the late evening sun, you'll get to choose between the open-air bar or the large bar and lounge offering startling panoramic views.
In terms of recreation, there is a library, an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a fitness room, massage rooms, snow room, sauna, nail shop and hairdresser. You can also look forward to conferences and presentations in the theatre, fitted with state-of-the-art technology.
