Foxe Basin
One of Canada's little-known areas, the Foxe Basin is a shallow oceanic collective. These nutrient-rich cold waters are known to be especially favorable to phytoplankton. In turn, the numerous islands the basin make for important bird habitats, including Sabine's gulls and many types of shorebirds. Bowhead whales also migrate annually to the area.
