What was your most memorable moment?
Can't chose one. Everything was memorable. However, one thing happened that was negatively memorable - My luggage never left Pearson airport. It took about a week to track it down in Pearson. In the meantime, Adventure Canada certainly helped me as much as possible, including an escorted tour of expedition clothing shops of which there were 2 in Sisimut. Now, I have to get all that equipment paid for.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to The Arctic?
* take name/address cards to give to new friends * take lots of socks * provided waterproof jacket was great - piles of pockets * be prepared for major changes to itinerary, including not visiting places, visiting other places, possible turn back to beginning. All of this was due to sea ice conditions. * we spent two unplanned days on zodiacs among the sea ice in the middle of Baffin Bay 100 miles from shore, waiting for Pond Inlet and Resolute to become navigable. In the end, we couldn't get into Pond Inlet, so we couldn't buy anything Canadian and we didn't stop at any other communities other than 2 in Greenland. * sea ice, polar bears, arctic fog, weather conditions strongly impacted kayaking - they didn't get out that often, and at times, decision to cancel kayaking was made at the very last moment. * probably because of ice conditions, we couldn't get into any of the fiords where we expected to see whales, polar bears, muskox, caribou, narwhales, etc. In the end we saw 2 polar bears swimming far away, 2 seals, mostly swimming, and a fantastic bird colony at an unscheduled stop * arctic fog - mornings were almost always fogged in, but we were lucky in that it almost always cleared in the afternoon * time changes - happen often, sometimes as many as 3 time zones in a day (since our itinerary was so unusual) - so watches really get mixed up. Only place where you could get reliable time was on the notice boards. * midnight sun is quite an experience. * customs: Greenland customs were a breeze - it was all done electronically. Canadian customs were an embarrassment. The only places for us were Pond Inlet, Resolute, and Iqaluit. Pond Inlet and Resolute were the only two for us as Iqaluit would have taken us far south. Adventure Canada tried to fly in the 2 custom agents via helicopter, but it couldn't be arranged. Pond Inlet never became navigable and we took a risk sailing for 2 days direct to Resolute, and even then, just made it through sea ice. This was another reason why we couldn't enter the fiords of Lancaster Sound, as we weren't allowed on land until custom clearance. This was a big disappointment, all due to Canada Customs
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, being out of reach is absolutely great.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Update the adventure planner to be more user friendly. For instance, I never was able to find my invoice directly. Note: in answer to the questions below, I'm already using swoop for my atacama, patagonia, antarctic, buenos aires trip next February.
