Traversing the Arctic Northwest Passage in the footsteps of my Ross explorers ancestors and landing at Fort Ross. The beauty of pristine landscape wildlife will be a lasting memory of a once in a lifetime trip. The Aurora Expedition team and Greg Mortimer Crew were top notch and made my dream come true.

Tell us about the wildlife
Mother Nature is in control. There were fewer sightings of Polar Bears and Whales. The Expedition Team did a good job of setting our expectations that the sightings of wildlife would probably not be abundant.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The Zodiac excursions were awesome! I loved being so close to the shores to view the land and wildlife up close. I felt very safe - the Zodiac crew and drivers were experts.
Tell us about the expedition team
The knowledge and kindness shared and expressed by the Expedition Team really made the trip for me. The list of stand out staff members is Flo, Justine, Cecile, Bob, Ian, Brian, Russell, and so many more! Cecile's Finding Franklin lectures were the best. She delivered in such a fun and informative style, and at the right level of detail. Thank you!
Tell us about the Greg Mortimer
Greg Mortimer exceeded my expectations. My cabin was great - Louie was my cabin attendant and kept my room in tip top shape as well as very kind. The Magical Kitchen Crew - thank you. I tasted new and interesting dishes that were amazing. The kindness and friendliness of the serving and buffet staff was awesome! Yes, I would choose this ship again if it is traveling to a destination I want to travel.
Something Else?
The internet - I know we are supposed to be humanly connected to our ship mates and crew. Unfortunately our lives outside of the ship cruise need our attention too. The lack of viable sattelite internet services kept me awake into the wee hours to try and solve an issue that could have been quickly resolved over the internet. Also, the internet service provided should be much more secure - such as a VPN.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to The Arctic?
Get satellite service before you leave home. Internet is sparse if you must stay in contact with your home.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes. There is beauty in this world, and nature is telling us something. Earth is mad at us. We must do better to protect our planet and wildlife, and spread kindness amongst ourselves or we will not survive.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Swoop is my go-to for expedition travel. Both Emma and Ben did their homework to make sure I had the right trip to meet my travel wishes. Emma and Ben are the greatest - cheered me on and made sure I was prepared, as well as gently telling me I had more paperwork due! Thank you.... Thank you..... Thank you....!
