Tell us about the expedition team
Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable in their specific field. This applied especially to the geologists who gave very informative and instructive lectures. It would have been good to have a wildlife specialist or ornithologist among the team of guides, though.
Tell us about the MV Plancius
The ship was ideally suited for the trip. It was very spacious, had lots of room on outer decks so that it never became crowded, and the engine was very quiet. The cabin was spacious, very well kept and very clean, and the food was wonderful!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
The incompetence and lack of care we experienced from the Swoop team before the trip was in stark contrast to the professionalism by Oceanwide. Swoop should invest in training their staff adequately and making sure that they are able and prepared to provide the necessary information that customers ask for, particularly in times of uncertainty. Phrases such as 'we are all experienced travellers etc.' to delay any nearly helpful response are inacceptable from an incompetent 20-something year-old representative of a travel agent.
