The ancient geology and the absolute silence- the dramatic weathered, layered rock and experiencing sometimes, when on land, for just a moment the utter isolation.

The ship's crew were phenomenal, friendly and ever- attentive. The Expedition Team was efficient and knowledgeable. Both worked together to ensure our safety, comfort and experience on the ship and on excursions. I understand you are a Danish company. Almost entirely the Expedition Crew was Danish, too. It was a mix of countries represented among the passengers. If there's a way to have more staff diversity, that's my one suggestion.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to The Arctic?
Make sure you do have a loose- fitting and waterproof set, top and bottom, for over your clothes. As well, the thin GoreTex mitten covers I brought were perfect. A mosquito net, if summer! A backpack when on land is useful. If you have dietary needs or concerns, as I did, the chef is very knowledgeable and the buffet is labeled. They were able to prepare some alternatives, too.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes. Climate change is of major concern and interest to me. The tangled economic web of Denmark and Greenland and this situation was eye- opening and has given me a lot to think about!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Thank you! For below, I have been fortunate to see Arctic Norway and Finland as well as Alaska. I know I wouldn't be able to physically handle the open ocean on a boat!
